How to get (and stay) party-ready this December

We all know that, when winter approaches, longer nights mean more time for partying. But while the party season is in full swing, and invites pop up everywhere, staying glam can turn into a full-time job that feels like a bit of a battle. Don’t worry, though; I have identified the main issues faced during party season and have put together some top beauty tricks that will keep you feeling and looking good this Christmas.

Avoid the beauty hangover

We always hear about the long-term negative impacts of alcohol consumption and, while these concerns are valid, for most of us the effects of Christmas parties will more likely manifest themselves in other areas. Alcohol is a diuretic, meaning it will increase your body’s tendency to expel water. This has the knock-on effect not only of leaving your skin feeling and looking dry and dull, it can also mean skin cells are less plumped up, exacerbating the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Alcohol also acts as blood thinner, bad news for anyone who suffers from rosacea; is a hormone disruptor – look out anyone who struggles with hormonal acne – and can destroy our good gut bacteria, thus causing problems with the immune system. The best way to combat these issues is by hydrating yourself from the inside, out. For this, I recommend the Arbonne Skin Elixir Collagen Builder with Hyalauronic Acid , a food supplement that you mix with water. I truly believe that a daily sachet of this has been a total game-changer for my skin, as it works from within. Combine with a Pomegranate or Citrus Energy Fizz Stick to really nip your hangover in the bud!

The sweet truth

Over Christmas, it’s inevitable that we’ll find ourselves indulging in a few more sweet treats than usual, reaching for a few extra choccies and loosening our belts just a notch or two. And while no one can blame you for treating yourself to a few mince pies, your skin and body may not be the biggest fans of the idea.

Sugar is actually the number-one culprit when it comes to investigating the source of your yuletide bloat. The ‘bad’ bacteria in your gut absolutely love the sweet stuff and the result may be bloating and pain. I’m not saying forget about the Christmas cake altogether, I’m just saying that if you start taking a daily sachet of Arbonne Digestion Plus , you will be giving your gut both pro and pre-biotics which may help balance things out a little more!

Get party ready

Right, so you’ve beaten the bloat and your skin looks great, but if you’ve got hundreds of party invites, you don’t want to spend hours getting ready for each one! When you come to get ready, I recommend Arbonne’s ready in five range , which offers a customisable make-up set that is tailor-made for you, so you just can’t go wrong. One thing that always gets me feeling slightly more glam is having smooth, hair-free legs. At the salon, we offer a range of hair removal options  from waxing, perfect for those who don’t want to shave during party season, to laser hair removal, for those who never want to shave again! We also offer a range of skin treatments , which will leave you feeling velvety-soft, and facials to have you looking radiant all season long. Now get out there and party, people!
