If you’re like me, the approach of summer fills me with mixed emotions. On the one hand, the warm weather is delightful – longer days mean more time to see friends, and barbeques on the beach are calling. Unfortunately, whilst all of this excites me, it’s normal to feel a little apprehensive about the pressure to look and feel a certain way in summer clothes. We all have little blemishes on our skin that we get nervous about revealing, and whilst beauty comes from within, we love to help women feel more confident in their own body. What are Advanced Cosmetic Procedures?

 

Advanced Cosmetic Procedures (ACP) use electrolysis to target a wide variety of skin blemishes, resulting in the removal, or reduction, of the blemish. The safe, effective technology has been been used by doctors since the early 1900s. ACP can even out a wide variety of blemishes, but the types we most often treat are:

 

  • Thread veins
  • Blood spots
  • Spider naevus (a dilated blood vessel)
  • Skin tags
  • Milia (small, white and hard spots)
  • Warts
  • Seborrheic keratosis (a non-contagious wart)
  • Dermatosis papulose nigra – common on black skin, smooth black/brown papules
  • Mole reduction
  • Hairs in moles

 

As you can see, there are countless blemishes that ACP can target, and this list is far from exhaustive; if you have a problem area that you aren’t sure whether we can help with, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. What would my Advanced Cosmetic Procedure involve?

 

The length of treatment required varies from case to case, and we will be able to advise you as to the length of your ACP course in your booking consultation. At your consultation we will also need to perform a 15-minute ‘patch test’ to ensure the procedure is suitable for you. Once we’ve checked this, you’re all set and ready to go!

 

Timing your Advanced Cosmetic Procedure

 

If you are looking to have your blemishes removed by a certain date – perhaps your Summer holiday – then it’s important to note that you will not be able to expose the treated area to direct sunlight for a week afterwards. We therefore advise coming in sooner rather than later; the blemishes shouldn’t return, so it doesn’t matter how early before your holiday you have your treatment.
