Advanced Blemish Removal

ABR provides effective treatment for a wide range of skin blemishes on almost any part of the face or body

Advanced blemish removal (ABR) treatments using electrolysis can treat a wide range of skin blemishes easily and effectively, with minimal skin reaction, downtime and post treatment care, thereby offering you a safe and proven route to improved skin.

Our practitioner, Rebecca, is extremely passionate about skin health and has a MASCED(Melanoma & Skin Cancer Early Detection) Accreditation. This means that if she sees a blemish that doesn't fit into the protocols of a treatable blemish, she will make you aware of this and recommend next steps. Generally, this will require a visit to your GP or Dermatologist. If the outcome of this is that Rebecca is unable to treat you, there will still be a consultation charge as the appointment time has been reserved.

Examples of treatable skin conditions:

  • Thread veins
  • Blood spots
  • Spider Naevus
  • Skin tags
  • Milia
  • Warts
  • Seborrhoeic Keratosis
  • Age spots
  • Pigmentation
  • Sebaceous Cysts
  • Moles (GP permission letter required)

An initial 30 minute ABR consultation is required to ensure the skin blemish is treatable using this method and a treatment plan will be discussed.  Treatment sessions are charged in multiples of 15 minutes. Results are often instantaneous, but that is dependent on the skin blemish and by adhering to the aftercare advice.

Please read the aftercare advice ahead of your treatment to ensure the timing is right for you to have the treatment based around your lifestyle.

Post treatment you may experience:

  • Reddening, swelling and sensitivity to the area for up to 48 hours.
  • The treated and surrounding area may feel hot for up to 48 hours.
  • Pin dot crusts or small scabs may appear in the treated area.
  • The skin may itch as the healing process takes place.

Aftercare advice:

  • DO NOT touch, rub or irritate the treated area/scabs.
  • Avoid activities that stimulate blood flow for 48 hours following vascular treatments (exercise, hot baths, alcohol, spicy foods, swimming, saunas, steam baths)
  • Avoid activities that may irritate or dislodge any crusts or scabs (waxing, facial steaming, facial scrubs)
  • DO NOT fly for 48 hours.
  • Keep out of UV light during the healing process and use a good quality, high factor sunscreen thereafter.
  • Avoid using any irritants such as perfumes/perfumed product and fake tan until the skin has healed.

You will be advised to use specially formulated Sterex soothing gels following the treatment, available to buy in salon.
